Let me introduce myself!
If you know Bonnie personally or read her about page, you’ll know she has been in a clinic abroad to fight her anorexia 3 years ago.
Seriously, Bonnie is amazing. She started this blog and a few days later she got a new job as a teacher! I’m so proud!

But, back to the admission. In the same month that she was there, I was in this clinic as well.
Me and Bonnie were desperately trying to kill the ED. This has not been a sacred moment from where everything in life became easier. Not for Bonnie, not for me. But it was definitely a very important month in my life. The most important thing is that I now know 9 amazingly strong women who are the best. The treatment in this clinic was very intense, and we got to know each other very well.

So now, 3 years later, we’re still very close. We have a WhatsApp group where we share everything, and we see each other almost every other month to just talk and have some fun. I know Bonnie as the most perfectionist, creative and humble woman of the entire group. By humble I mean mainly about herself.
You hardly see her being proud of herself and she is never satisfied with what she does or creates. That’s a shame, because we think she’s the most talented of us all. It’s so nice that she started this blog now, we are very excited about it.
When she told us that we were very welcome to write posts for her blog, I was immediately enthusiastic. Within 2 minutes I opened Word and started writing. I’m not sure where to start, but I’m really excited to write blogs every now and then. I’ll write about things I encounter in my life as a 22-year-old and recovering from anorexia and PTSD. Of course, life is so much more than those DSM labels, so don’t expect it is the only thing I’ll write about! \😉/
So, who am I?
- A 22-year-old girl
- Living in the Netherlands, near Amsterdam
- Studying for Speech Therapist in Utrecht
- Currently living with my parents, cat and dog
- I’ve lived on my own 3 times, but I failed at taking care of myself
- I’ve been a classical ballet dancer for 19 years
- I’m recovering from anorexia
This is me in short, but if you want to know more….? Just stay tuned!
My next blog is about my eating disorder and how I started recovery.
Lots of love from me, Mary
